REACH stands for Resources, Education, Advocacy, Counseling and Housing. This semester the honors fraternity, Phi Sigma Pi, is lending their helping hands to this organization. During March, the brothers of Phi Sigma Pi are knitting and crocheting squares that will later be sowed together to make blankets. They will give these blankets to REACH, along with all monetary donations. The brothers are working on making enough blankets for the safe houses and for the women, so they will have something to take with them as a reminder that people believe in them. Phi Sigma Pi is hoping to continue this process as long as they can. Every dollar that is donated to REACH through Phi Sigma Pi will be matched in squares for the blankets. Each blanket can take anywhere between 60 and 100 squares to make. On March 8 and 9, there will be a table set up outside of the UC. On that table will be donation boxes for REACH. Please place a dollar, which will add on a square to a blanket, in the box. This is anon profitable service project for Phi Sigma Pi, and they will continue making the blankets as long as women are going to the REACH safe houses. Phi Sigma Pi would also like to thank the help of the knitting group at WCU, the sisters of Alpha Gamma Delta and the brothers of Delta Sigma Pi for their time and donations. Phi Sigma Pi is reaching out to the community one square at a time...your one dollar can make a large difference.
