Our mission is to provide the Western Carolina University community with programs of a social, cultural, educational, and recreational nature. The programs are coordinated and produced by students. LMP consists of two divisions: the Programming division, which is composed of four committees (Films, Music, Campus Issues & Special Events) that determine what events to bring to campus, and the Marketing division, which advertises all of the events by using a variety of techniques. The Films Committee is a fun, interactive group that collaborates together to choose, promote and run blockbuster films a semester to show in the UC Theatre. Come join the Films Committee and get the inside scoop on Westerns upcoming films, as well as the newest movies being released. Music Committee he Music Committee is responsible for bringing a variety of musical talents to Western's Campus and has arranged performances of well known groups such as Rascal Flatts, Fuel, Michelle Branch & Ludacris, just to name a few. Give your opinion about concerts at Western. You can even work at the concerts! AMIDUS ISSUGS OMICS Campus Issues provides the WCU community with programs focused on campus, regional, national and international issues, as well as a variety of diversity topics. These programs include educational speakers, panel discussions, information tables and workshops. Also, this committee hosts WCU's Alternative Break Program, which provides students with service learning opportunities during weekends, fall and spring breaks, We work closely with the Womens Center, Multicultural Affairs, student organizations, and faculty and staff. Our goal is to supplement the classroom experience with mind-opening, exciting activities and events. 3pecle ents Committee The Special Events Committee provides entertainment for many events, such as Welcome Back Week, Up Alll Nite and Family Weekend. Special Events coordinates comedians, poets, novelty acts and other fun exciting programs. We al trips to places outside of North Carolina such as Charleston, SC and Atlanta, GA. i oi coauien ee Decia Where the Programmers get the Performers, we get the people. We are looking for those who think outside-of-the box will work hard. We give opportunities to be innovative and creative in print, radio, TV and promotional material. We are the Marketers of Last Minute Productions. August 26-28 @ 9 p.m.
