It is, however, about making smart decisions and being able to think into the future. Constantly ask yourself, "How will this decision impact my future?" A valuable asset is one that will keep gaining value in the future, providing that value to you. Investing is merely valuing an asset accurately and comparing that asset's value against its price. Pick the ones that are high in value and low in cost. When choosing your investments, you should be careful to value them as accurately as you can. To do so, make sure there is a specific need that an asset will fill. Valuing investments according to the value that they give to you is absolutely critical. I have two simple investment analyses of my own to share with you. While delivering pizza one day, a woman asked me if I could use an old window air conditioner. I said "yes. " I knew that the air conditioner had value greater than its cost. The price of the air conditioner for me was nothing more than my effort to load it onto my truck. The next day, I sold the air conditioner for fifty dollars, all profit. A different investment that I analyzed was the purchase of a 1995 Mercedes. I was offered this vehicle for a price considerably lower than what the owner could have gotten for it. The car was in beautiful shape. However, ultimately I said "no, " because I already have a vehicle that runs fine (knock on wood!) Though the Mercedes was valuable, it would not have gained enough in value to justify the money I would have spent. In the end, every car gets you from place to place in exactly the same manner.
