QUICKBALL TOURNAMENT 4-ON-4 BASEBALL (M, W, & CO-ED) Friday & Saturday, Feb. 23 and 24. Team sign-ups end Feb. 22 in Office 130 Reid Gym. A Quickball Homerun Derby will occur Friday night, Feb. 23. Quickball is a revolutionary agility sport that combines the most exciting elements of baseball and softball. The quickball tournament and homerun derby will occur on the main floor of Reid Gym. Quickball includes an indoor stadium, whiffle-like balls, plastic balls, a plastic bat, and ball gloves if desired. (American Heart Association) - In 1999,61% of Americans were either obese of overweight. - Over 600 students each year come to the WCU Counseling Center to receive services such as individual counseling, groups, emergencies, consultation, course or university withdrawals, and assessments. - About a third (31 %) of WCU students have not had a drink in the past 30 ' days. - Each pound of fat contains the equivalent of approximately 3,555 calories. - People who eat breakfast score higher on tests. - Up to 250,000 deaths occur per year (12% of total deaths) due to lack of regular physical activity. (American Heart Association) - Daily physical activity improves ability to fall asleep quickly and sleep well. 'The Intramural Sports, Fitness, Health Services and Counseling Service Programs are sponsoring the "WCU Health Nugget." It will provide amazing facts or significant information relating to student needs, values and wellness.
