This club will deal with Elementary and Middle School education affairs. Although the membership of the club is open to everybody, its main objective is to help those who major in mat field. SGA also approved the Establishment of a Rugby Club. The Rugby Club is now recognized and therefore will be funded. In another development, SGA passed a resolution to increase the Student Security Patrol. According to Brett Fansler, vice-president of SGA, members of his government found a need to strengthen and expand on the Security Patrol around the campus. However, Fansler declined to elaborate by saying that his administration needs to do some more work before they can release any details on how they plan to execute the whole program. Meanwhile, the election for SGA and LMP leadership is just around the comer. Name: Luden Basse City, Country: Daker, Senegal Major: Electronic Engineering Technology Rank: Senior Why did you choose WCU? I went to Blue Ridge Community College in Hendersonville, NC, and 1 met some friends who transferred to WCU. These friends told me good things about the engineering program at WCU. After graduation I sent an application to WCU, and here I am. How did you adapt to WCU? This being the fourth year since I came to the U.S., I have teamed how to cope with homesickness. Once 1 met a couple of friends with whom I shared Interests, things became much easier. HowdoyoufindtheWCXIConununity?WCUi8 such a peaceful place, and the setting is beautiful. However, a better social life and rnoreintegration would add a tot more to the beauty of this area. 1 come from a country where people are simply referred to as people no matter what color they are. But whensomebody asks meabout my black or white friend, it saddens me. 1 believe that we will have a tot to offer to each other, and it's something that can be achieved only if we give to each other the opportunity. XUCISN BASSE (photo by ASB) Family? I lostmypar- ents while studying here/butlhaveseven brothers and sisters living in Senegal. Biggest Cultural difference? I found Americans too reserved or selfish. Maybe it's a matter of life style that makes people focused on ways of making money. We still have the extended family and a great sense of communty. Alcohol is a big problem here. What I have seen on campus about drinking is just uruqueeven though we don'thave a drinking age. Comments: I have noticed that the majority o* peoptedon'tknow much about Africa. Iwishthey; could be more curious and critical about things brought to them by the media. If they limit therm selves to National Geographic they would de% nJtely have the wrong idea about Africa. There are a tot of positive things that are not brought to the| attention. Therefore, a more developed sense of curiostiy would be very helpful ffw51ARGVc H E ESY PizZAS^ COVERED WITH DOUBLE PEPPERONI $-|088 PLUS TAX Extra items and extra cheese available at additional cost.
