But you say you've never heard of that organization sponsoring it'.' Not at all surprising-it has been only two months in existence on our campus. But the WCL'chapter of Alpha Epsilon Rho is part of a nationally recognized broadcasting fraternity which has been around since 1942, and as you can see, they are already quite active. Alpha Epsilon Rho consists of active chapters located on college and university campuses and professional chapters; both emphasize the importance of improving the quality of service to the broadcast community. According to its national constitution, the organization's purpose is most importantly to "establish ~. We will have a band playing n^ Cj "dinner music" February 13, \J} 1982 Saturday Nite Bring your Valentine to the Depot Ltd. It is not in competition with other campus fraternities and is open to any person with an interest in the broadcasting field. For the general student in any major. Alpha Epsilon Rho offers contact with those involved in professional broadcasting; the WCU chapter plans many guest speakers, informational films, and videotape production contests, activities in which any associate member can participate. As a group, the twenty-four members plan to produce public service announcements for the Jackson County and Asheville areas. The current executive office holders for AERho are as follows: President-Randy Anthony; Vice-President—Ed Burkes; Secretary-Cindy Wilkinson; Treasurer- Margaret Hodson; Member-At-Large—Dale Saufley: Charter Advisor—G. Richard Ciamev. Foremost on the AERho calendar is the upcoming Airband Contest which is scheduled for February 18th in Hoey Auditorium. This competition is open to everyone; bands may consist from one to ten members, and the same song cannot be performed by more than one band (songs are claimed on a first-come-first-serve basis, so apply as soon as possible). The deadline forapplication is February 15th, and for a Grand Prize of $40, you won't want to miss out. For applications for the Airband Contest contact Randy Anthony at 227-6884 or Mark Howell at 293-3158. Applications are also being taken for persons interested in joining AERho. These can be picked up along with more information at the office of G. Richard Gainey—Stillwell 223, and the deadline for turning them in is February 9th. Other activities on the agenda include a banquet on the 25th at which new members will be welcomed. Regional members working in the field will participate, and the featured speaker will be the regional director from Virginia. « " ~ rpd to be readily available for sale at or> Each ot these advertised items ,s/eAq.Ut> ctore except as specifically noted | below ihe advertised price m each ASP bio *. in this ad PRICES EFFECTIVE THRU SAT..
