All entries will be shown in the Student Art Show March 31 through April 16, and deadline for entries is February 29. A cash prize of $10.00 will be given to the entry voted best, and for further information contact Robert Brown in the Belk Building at 227-7210. Financial Aid If you haven't signed, you can do so by reporting to the Controller's Office, Room 320 Mountain Heritage Building and see Mrs. Rice or Mr.. Childers. Nursing applications ATTENTION ALL NURSING MAJORS: Applications for admission to the major in the fall of 1980 arc now available in the nursing office, Moore 202. Applications must be completed and returned to the nursing office by February 15. Cross country skiing On Sunday, February 10, Last Minute Productions will sponsor a Cross Country Ski Trip to Clingmau's Dome Area. The Financial Aid Office wants to ask each of you If you really did receive your aid for this Spring Semester. Well, you didn't receive it against your tuition if vou didn't sign your voucher. All Financial Aid recipients of any kind of aid, whether they received any cash refund or not, must sign their voucher in order to receive credit on their bill. Ski trip EMT meeting Last Minute Productions will sponsor a Ski Trip to Cataloochee Ski Resort Friday, February 8, depending on the weather conditions. The cost for transportation, ski rental, and lift tickets is $8 for students with a valid I. D. Only $6 if you have your own skis. The Region A Chapter of the North Carolina Association of E.M.T.'s will hold their monthly business meeting and training session on Wednesday, February 13th at 7 p.m. at the Jackson County Rescue Squad, Unit One, building in Sylva. The deadline for application is February 15 and if you choose, you may take the exam here at Western on March 22. There is no charge for the examination. Registration materials arc available in the Placement Office. If you do not register for PACE before February 15, you will not have another opportunity to take the exam this year and it probably will not be given again until the Spring of 1981. SUMMER INTERNSHIPS There are still some opportunities available for summer internships. The latest one to be listed with our office is the National Newspaper Food Editors Internship Program. This internship is open to juniors or seniors majoring in Home Economics or Journalism. This is a paid internship. Applications are available in the Placement Office. IMPORTANT DATES February 13 - Application deadline for Summer Internships with the State of North Carolina. February 15 - Last date to make application for PACE exam. March 1 - Application deadline for Washington Center for Learning Alternatives Summer Internships April 15 - Deadline for application for many summer jobs with the Federal Government. Deadlines have already passed for summer employment with the National Park Service and for clerical positions with the Federal Government. COLLEGE MAJOR AND CAREER INFORMATION WORKSHOPS Before you declare a major, you may have some questions that you want answered. What are your interests and abilities? What JOBS are available now and will be available when you are? What are entry-level salary ranges?
