  • THE WESTERN CAROLINIAN THURSDAY, AUGUST 5, 1976 WHAT DO YOU THINK OF Interviews by A.E.Brotrm9Jr. Photos by ieetandie Studios I'd rather be in Cullowhee" is heard on one street corner, and "man. I hate this place" is heard on the next. This type of inconsistency aroused our curiosities, so once again, the Western Carolinian took to the streets to let you, the Cullowhee inhabitant, have your say. The last time our staff chased after public opinion, we received a rousing mixed chorus of hisses and boos from some who claimed that "the only people you interviewed were those dirty Townhouse and UC bums." This time, to avoid such accusations, we ventured into the library, rambled through the classroom buildings, hung-out in front of the cafeteria, and we admit, patronized the Townhouse and UC. If you don't think that these folks represent a decent cross-section of Cullowheegians, it's time for you to switch brands of deodorant. It's a nice place and time for tourists; but they don't try to separate the serious students from the tourists. Frank Keefer, 23, Industrial Technology I thought it was helpful, but sort of boring. There are not too many people or activities here. It's the first time I've ever been to college. Kim Rooks, 18, Undecided I've been here in the Summer for four years, and I think people get along better during the summer months. This year I'm not as close in contact with the students, but it still seems that people don't take things as seriously in the summer as they do the rest of the year. Nobody's looking for trouble. Dave Rayburn, 30, Proprietor--!.d.'s It was fun. If I hadn't been an orientation leader, I would've hated being here. I've been practicing for basketball season a lot. Ike Mims, 21, Physical Education I think it's great. It's the best place to be summertime. Pam Stiles, 20, Waitress and Sometime Student
