Johnson is a fraternity member. He said the director could get the agents to give his fraternity a low-priced band for a fraternity party in exchange for an expensive contract for a concert at the university at the students' expense. Johnson also said he would try to appoint members to committees that reflected the composition of the campus. Killam, when asked if he would take a similar stand, replied, "I won't segregate the campus into categories and percentiles. I want the most qualified person regardless of their affiliations. As far as mis using the office once appointed, I'll deal with that if it happens." Sherman last night repeated his pledge to review SGA salaries and cut those that need to be reduced. "But this is only the tip of the iceberg," he said. "I'll be looking for ways to economize all through student government." Sherman termed Clemmer's endorsement of his opponent, Joe Digges, as "unfortunate," "I am surprised to find the president of SGA endorsingpol- itical candidates, and I urge all students to vote their conscience," he added. Digges said Clemmer intended the endorsement as her opinion as a student, not as SGA president. Digges restated his opposition to damage boards, called for continuation of the tuition deferments once given to veterans, and urged all students to attend a rally today against the proposed tuition increases. 1k OfU^ CHATTOOGA AND LITTLE TENNESSEE CANOE TRIPS Mountain Adventures of Cullowhee is offering both one day (Sunday) and overnight (Sat./Sun.) canoe trips on the beautiful Chattooga and Little Tennessee Rivers.
