  • Page 8 THE WESTERN CAROLINIAN Tuesday May 1, 1973 OUTING CLUB Carolinian News Briefs The Outing Club will meet Tuesday at 7 pm in Forsyth 128. There will be discussion of the two-week backpacking and rock climbing trip in Col- orada planned for this August. Those participating in the trip can receive 5 hrs transferable credit from the University of Tennessee. Plans for the trip must be made soon so those interested should make plans to attend the meeting. A day trip for next week-end will also be discussed. POW TO SPEAK Former P.O.W. Captain Mc= Nish will speak in Hoey Auditorium, Wednesday, May 2 at 7:30. The appearance is being sponsored by the Veterans Association in conjunction with the UCB. There will be no admission charge. PRE-SCH00L PROGRAM Registration for the Cullowhee Baptist Church Preschool Program will be Monday, May 7 at 1:00 pm at the church. KAPPA DELTA PI Date of Cook-out has been changed. Kappa Delta Pi will have its annual spring cook- out and initiation on Thursday May 10 (rain day is May 15) at 5:00 pm at Dr. Gurney Chambers home . COUNSELING The WCU Veterans Counseling Service reminds veterans to fill out and return to' the VA the enrollment certification cards which will come with this month's check. If this card is not completed and returned, the veteran will receive no further payment, will not be allowed to re-enroll under any VA program and may be required to repay all the amounts which he has already received covering the attendance period to be certified. AFRICAN SYMPOSIUM The final staff meeting for the symposium on Southern Africa will be Wednesday, May 2 at 7:00 p.m. in McKee 118. All staff members should be present.
