For the Newberry game, played November 13, quarterback Jim Williams and tackle Bill Stanley received the honors. Williams, a junior from Franklin, takes the honor for the third time. His passing a- gainst the Indians of Newberry from Abbeville, S. C, is an outstanding defensive linebacker. He has been a key to rushing defense that has featured so many victories this season. Walden is a junior from Plant City, Fla. His defensive play also earned him the honors for the Presbyterian game. He intercepted his third, fourth and fifth pass of tho year against ► ^ ^^^ \2a m3*w Jim Williams Ronnie Scott . CATAMOUNT FOOTBALL COACHES from left to right: Johnny Wike, line coach; Dan Robinson, head coach; Tom Young, end Coach. This season the Western Carolinian has spotlighted two players of the week for each football game. We feel that now that the season is over it would be a good time to spotlight our three football coaches. The Cats have come a long way since the 1965 season has begun and have given Western Carolnia a team to be proud of. It took the capable leadership of our three coaches to make this season a successful one. Dan Robinson, head coach here at Western since 1956, enjoyed his best season this year since he joined the athletic program. His lifetime coaching record stands at 38 wins, 50 defeats, and 4 ties. The pleasure of this year's team is the fact that all but four will return to play again next year. As he has already said in this issue, "We hope there will come a time when a 7-2 record will be disappointing." Tom Young played his college football at the University of North Carolina. He is presently serving as athletic director and end coach. He served as head coach for the Cats until Coach Robinson took over in 1956. Johnny Wike graduated from East Carolina College where he was an outstanding football player. He served as line coach for Elon College before taking the job here. His pinpoint tosses, however, set the stage for two other scores. Stanley, a 210-pound sophomore from Roanoke Rapids, N. C, picks up the honors for the first time. His tremendous line play has been a prime factor in the victories this season. Both he and Williams will be back next year trying to better this season's 7-2 record. In the Presbyterian game, Ronnie Scott and P. D. Walden ran off with the players of the week honors. Both boys have received the awards before. Scott, a 190-pound junior P. D. Walden the Blue Hose, stopping sustained drives on each occasion. P. D. and Ronnie will also be back next year. WCC Hosts ... —Continued from page 10 get in that new car." Jane| was already anticipating wearing her sister's pretty clothes, and perhaps stepping into her position some day. Penny is afraid the transition back to normal college life will be hard after this year is over. She plans to major in dramatics and radio and television. She is considering going back to the University of North Carolina, or transferring to East Carolina College or Pasadena Playhouse in California.
