  • Amy begins the show with a story about the beginning of her writing career in “Walking the Trails—Telling the Tales.” The background music is “The Offering” by Bill Mize & Martha Jacobs. Doreyl welcomes Susan Coe to Creative Corner. They talk about the upcoming heritage festival at Southwestern Community College’s Swain campus on Nov. 14, 2015. The interview is followed by “Shout Lula” by Frank Lee. On Stories of Mountain Folk, Amy’s guest is Martha Ammons Peak, owner of Martha’s Kitchen in Franklin. She tells stories about her grandparents and growing up in Macon County. Martha also talks about getting her start in the restaurant business. “Buttermilk Biscuits” by the Company Store follows the segment. On Let Us March On, Mary Sue Casey continues her interview with Emma Lou Bryson, who tells some stories about growing up in Jackson County. The interview is followed by “Standing on the Solid Rock” by Vocal Union. Judy’s guest on Down Another Road is Bobby McMillon from Madison County. They discuss the history of ballads and ballad singers in western North Carolina. “Old Ruben” by the Queen Family follows the segment. “Laney Field Haunt” by Buddy Melton, Milan Miller and Mark Winchester concludes the show.
