  • Amy’s story “Thin Air” begins the show with another episode from her early married life in which she spent her first Christmas with the Garza family. Background music is “Angels from the Realms of Glory.” On Creative Corner, Doreyl’s guest is Conrad Burrell from Sylva. He talks about serving the public of Jackson County as Register of Deeds, County Commissioner, and has been on the Board of Trustees for Southwestern Community College for 17 years. “Boil Them Cabbage” by Kort & Beth McCumber follow the segment. Amy interviews Susan Hirsch on Stories of Mountain Folk. Susan shares some of the history of her Ammons family in Macon County, in particular, her mother, Catherine Ammons Crawford, who was a teacher. “Will the Circle be Unbroken” by Andrews &Lawrence follows the interview. On Let Us March On, Mary Sue Casey interviews Rev. Cyritha West from Franklin, who started God’s Holy Tabernacle with her husband in 1998. Born and raised in Cullowhee, she talks about her school experiences after integration and her early careers in hairdressing and child care. The interview is followed by “Walk With me” by Stella Moore. On Down Another Road, Judy Rhodes shares some of her poetry of summer and the natural world around us. The reading is followed by “In the Good Old Summertime.” The show concludes with “Rose of My Heart” by the Whitstein Brothers.
