This show is dedicated to the memory of Gail Briggs Nolen, who passed away on January 15, and it begins with Amy sharing some memories of her friendship with Gail and the books that Gail wrote. Her recollections are accompanied by “It is Well with My Soul” by David Bauer. This is followed by reprisals of Creative Corner segments from July 10 and July 17, 2010. In the first segment, Doreyl and Gail discuss her children’s book, Johnny, My Favorite Mouse. In the second segment, Gail talks with Doreyl about her book Memories of Merritt Island. These are followed by “Take a Moment and Live” by the Smoky Mountain Boys. Next, in a special segment, Amy reads from and talks about Gail’s first book, Memories of Merritt Island, published in 2004, which recounts her family’s history in Merritt Island, Florida, before NASA facilities were built there. “I Have Been Blessed” by Children of Zion follows her segment. On Down Another Road, Judy reads from Gail’s 2nd and 3rd books, Johnny, My Favorite Mouse, published in 2004, and The Bouncing Soccer Ball, published in 2007. These are children’s books about her two sons. The readings are followed by “For the Beauty of the Earth” by the Butterpats, and the show ends with “I’ll Fly Away” by Andrews & Lawrence.
