Amy begins the show with the fifth and final part of play "Samantha Bumgarner and the History of Mountain String Music", which was produced in 2001 by CSA and the 4th grade students of Jackson County. The banjo music in the play is “Lil’ Liza Jane” by Ron Smith, and “The Old Guitar” accompanies the reading. On Creative Corner, Doreyl talks with T.J. Holland, who shares some stories about the Cherokee Indians and their history in Graham County. He also talks about Cherokee culture and social customs. “Cherokee Morning Song” by Walela follows the interview. Amy’s guests on Stories of Mountain Folk are Dorris & Sam Beck, who share some of their memories of Sylva in the late 1940s and early 1950s and talk about how they met and their civic involvement in Sylva. The interview is followed by “Sugar Foot Rag” by the McDowell Family. On This Is My Home, Joe reads “Of the Chimes and the Gift of Life,” a Christmas story by John Parris. The story is accompanied by a violin performance of “Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring” by J.S. Bach. On Down Another Road, Judy talks with Frank Rodgers of Robbinsville, who discusses moonshine in Robbinsville and some other things about the town. “Double Eagle” by Lee Moore follows the interview, and the show ends with “Ukrainian Bell Carol” by the Columbian Handbell Ringers.
