This undated manuscript titled, “Source material for a study of the Great Smokies,” is by Robert Lindsay Mason (1874-) and Myron Haliburton Avery (1899–1952), president of the Potomac Appalachian Trail Club and chairman of the board of the Appalachian Trail Conference. The paper is a bibliography of material published about the region. The manuscript was collected by George Masa. Known for his photography, George Masa (1881-1933) was active in the Appalachian Trail Club and in the movement to establish the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
