  • about 10 miles. Trail steep but smooth^ Elevation 6636 feet. Cost of transportation approximately $2.85 each. Leaders: Raymond Siler and Bob McGinn (Phone 2—8434). May 11 CHEROKEE BLUFF Overlooking the Tennessee River on the South side of Knoxville are the Cherokee Bluffs, just a comfortable half-day hike from the city; but one which every member of the club would thoroughly enjoy. The botanists would revel in the various kinds of plants and shrubs, for this spot offers a store of information for the botanical mind. The lover of beauty would see nature bedecked in her most becoming spring costume. The historical research student would appreciate the many landmarks, bullet holes, narrow dug outs, and mounds, for it was here that the Confederate soldiers during the War between the States put up their fortifications. And for the person who glories in an expansive view, from the highest point of the bluff, he can get a magnificent view of the city of Knoxville. Then, the explorer would be fascinated with the cave whose entrance we find near the top of the bluff. It has never been thoroughly explored. The climb is not steep, and the trail which winds around in the most picturesque fashion is wide and free from obstructions. Plan to go. The hikers will leave the Saunders System at 2:00 o'clock Sunday afternoon; hike, drive or take the street car to the Gulf Refining Company Warehouse in South Knoxville. Take a picnic supper and a canteen. Leaders: Sarah Currell (Phone 2—4415) and Mrs. Howard Stair (Phone 3—3236). Tell All The World Tell all the world that summer's here again. {hat -white clouds voyage through a sky so still With blue tranquillity, it seems to 'hang One windless tapestry, from hill to hill. —Harry Kemp 32
