In a letter from November 12, 1895, Oliver Taylor writes to William W. Stringfield regarding a historical sketch that Stringfield had included in the latest copy of the Waynesville Courier. Taylor had been interested in a Confederate soldier James Keeling, recently deceased, whose heroism and bravery on the night of November 6, 1862 inspired Taylor enough to eulogize Keeling in poetic rhyme. He shares his piece of poetic fiction with Stringfield.
