Already the lower countries are feeling the effects of drouths and floods, due in no small mesaure to extensive lumber operations. Believing that the profession of the country will in natural state the beauties be interested in preserving the of these mountains as they exist and will further agree with us that it should be the policy of the Government to preserve at least a portion of this country and hand it down to future generations in its present virgin state, we would respectfully ask you, as chairman of the Committee of National Legislation, to present a Resolution at the meeting of the American Medical Association at Atlantic City, endorsing this project, provided of course, your Committee sees fit to give us their support. Our movement has been met with the greatest enthusiasm throughout the country at the hands of the press and the Committee of Agriculture have assured us that there would be a Commission appointed fo investigate the region, the necessity and feasibility of establishing such a Park, This whole region is now a Mecca for invalids who are sent here from the North by their physicians during the Winter months and from the South during the summer months.
