  • MY MAN My man is the one who is pushed down because his skin is dark. My man is the one who tries to live in a white oriented society, only to have to be twice as good as the next in order to get a job. My man is the one who has dropped out of school for one reason or another, most of the time to help his family out, financially. My man is the one who suffers and he dies from hypertension and high blood pressure at an early age. My man is the one who has to answer when his children ask, "Daddy, why can't we have this, why can't we have that?" My man is the one who feels less than a man when he can't do all the wonderful things for his family that others do for theirs. My man is the one that is one step ahead one minute, and two steps behind the next. My man is the one that no matter how hard the world knocks him down, he's more of a man because he picks himself up from the bottom and starts over again. My man is the one that is smilin during the day and praying at night for God to make life better for his family. My man has known all the suffering one man can know and experience in a life time and still hold his head up high. This man is a special man to all women, black and white. He is the precious black man that we are all thankful to have and to love, if only for a moment. This man is my man. MY BLACK MAN. Belinda Thacker
