  • 30 Mr Smathers: I like the name that Dr Ambler suggested, if we could get it short enough. *v ^cLoud: Since learning something of the geography of this matter, I am inclined in favor of "Southern." Mr Daniels: I move that we ca.: it the "Blue Ridge National Park Association", as a suostitute to the amendment. Mr Craig: We might adopt the "Over Hills of Attalay." (Laughter^ We want a name that will localize the park. The Southern National rark seems to be the proper name for it, to me. Mr Crawford; I would like to make one suggestion. There is only one place where we have ever thought of locating this park, and I do not fear the people of New Eng.and, or New York. I think the name given by the committee on By-laws is the proper one. Some people do not like Soumern, and wouid not vote for it for anything. Dr Asoier: I move that the name be, "Southern National Park and Forest Preservation," as an amendment to the substitute. Secondad. Then the chair oa^.ed tne vote on the substitute to the proposed amendment, "The Southern National Park and Forest Preserve Association. " There was a tie on the first vote. The chair cal.ed for a second vole and a more general vote, and on second vote the ayes were 24, and the noes 32. tHttK
