  • 27 Col. Waddeli: It is true that the committee on resolutions does not report any name, and this petition does not Ajive any name; well, I will withdraw my objection. Mr Craig: I move that the report on ByfLfcws be adopted, but that the name be discussed. Mr McLoud: I second tne motion. Mr t/ebo: The first thing to do is to introduce a resolution to unite into 3ome kind of association, and then ^Adoption of the By- Laws. In order that the matter may oe before the convention, I move those present now do unite themselves into "The Appalachian National fark Association." Seconded. Mr Loughran:. I move that the association be called the Southern National rark Association. Seconded* Dr Auoier: We have consulted a great number of people about the name; some want one name , and some another. Our reasons for adopting "Southern National Park Association" was, because the North and West have already parks. We do not want a park that may be taken to be anywhere along these mountnain ranges from the Adirondacks to the lower spurs of the mountains in Alabama; if we go to them with so much uncertainty, we might be turned down at once.
