Dear Sir: I want to thank you very heartily for your contribution to the Bulletin concerning the Southern Appalachian National Park. I want to apologise, also, for the delay in acknowledging its receipt. I have been away from Washington for a number of days, and found it here yesterday awaiting -my return. Just in what way we .shall use this contribution of yours is now uncertain. The Bulletin is taking shape in a somewhat different form from that which we expected when I wrote you, and I may have to call on you again for some additional information, or I may modify somewhat what you sent me, as you have kindly given me permission to do. In any case I am under great obligations to you. With regard to the extra copies of the Bulletin, which you say you would be glad to have, I think Mr. Pinchot would be very glad to make such an arrangement as you suggest. The article "oy Mr. Price which was printed in the Yearbook of the Department of Agriculture for 1900, is now being struck off as a separate pamphlet, and will be ready in a few days. It may be
