The original 312 acre tract of which No. 309 is a part is embraced wholly within the bounds of state Grant 252, Issued to John Gray Blount on November 29th, 1796. Title to the lands covered by this grant descended to Robert Love and James R. Love under deed bearing date December 20, 1834, and became a part of what was generally known as The Love Speculation lands. The records fail to disclose a full recorded chain of title to this tract, however, title passed from the Love Estate under deed bearing date Kay 26, 1874. Further recorded title to this tract is continuous and unbroken from March 15, 1892 down to the present owner, E. A». wood. The said Wood and those under whom he claims have been in the continuous adverse possession of this tract for sufficient period of time to have matured title under the Statutes of North Carolina. Inquiry in the neighborhood discloses that no other person has set up claim of any nature to this traot. There are no valid outstanding liens or encumbrances. All deeds are general warranty deeds and purport to convey the title In fee simple* All taxes have been paid. By deed properly executed and registered f* A» Wood and wife, Lenna w. Wood conveyed these lands to the State of North Carolina, In view of the foregoing, and under Seotions 428 and 430 of the Consolidated Statutes of North Carolina, I am of the opinion that F, A.
