  • for when we are together there are other things to think of and do , but to pass a quiet evening after a strenuous day,when a body does not feel like "being ■ sociable, or when one is trying to forget the abuse she has received at the hands of her dentist, there is nothing like "Kephart on Camping"J With the usual relaxation after camping awhile yesterday there came a great sense of relief when I read that others sometimes were panicy when they thought they were lost. I need training in"pathfinding". Two things have come to my mind, which though a product of my civilized life, may nevertheless serve a camper. The first is in the matter of darning stockings. A darn is a nuisance at best, but there is a period in the life of all stockings that I have seen, when,short of the "more holey than righteous"stage, it is better than having a hole, I have found a black Saxony most satisfactory^ it leaves the edge of the hole pliable, as cotton does not, the filled in part is soft and last but
