  • Mar. 14 1937 Dear Leonard It is getting dark, but I can make a beginning & perhaps finish in the a.m. in time for the mail. So much has been going on socially & otherwise that my old head whirls. After you get to be 75 much should be excused not? Any way I had a fine birthday & am trying to continue my aging grace- fully. Manton went up to Ithaca the 13th of Feb. collected Howard & Julia & brought them over here the 14th. He said “I couldn’t afford to buy what I wanted for you so brought myself.” Isn’t he the kind of nephew to have? Especially when you can have only one. Mrs. Fernow was in Ithaca for a week on her way home from Buffalo. She had been up to see Frit’z new- wife-to-be. She wanted to see me, so Karl brought her & Lucy over to spend the day. Lucy is not driving the car yet. Then there have been quilting bees, Ladies Aid, birthdays & sick to
