April 7 1936 Dear Leonard. Barbara & I have the Cherokee paper about ready to publish-soon as we hear about the copyright. Fritz Fernow is now looking up that. Meanwhile will you doctor the title page? The enclosed shows what we think should be on it, but we do not know just how to word & arrange it. Please let us know as soon as you can as we don’t want the printing held up if we find we can go ahead. We would like to have it dignified but catchy. The Birds may go to Albany (Roy has business there) & the Camp for the Easter vacation. They will start Sat. & I will go to Ithaca perhaps. If you answer this before the 15th send it to ℅ Dr. K. H. Fernow, Jacksonville N.Y.

In this letter of April 7, 1936, Laura Kephart writes her son, Leonard Kephart (1892-1988) from Masonville, New York to ask him to work on the title page for Horace Kephart’s article that will be published as soon as they find out about copyright. She mentions that Barbara and Roy will be going away for Easter and she herself will go to Ithaca, but plans to return to stay with Barbara until Roy knows where his forestry job will send him. She includes sample wording for the title page.
