  • accounts of the thirty-six programs, written by the leaders whose names and phone numbers appear at the end of each account. The Appalachian Trail work trips, the A. T. Conference in Vermont, and the mystery hike are new. New trails are routed to familiar destinations whenever possible and the date so arranged that the same geographical section will not be visited twice in succession. Again we have the vacation hike and a good share of nature study trips, winter-get-togethers, square dances, banquets and literature programs. Through the courtesy of Richard Bagwell, the Knoxville News-Sentinel and others we are able to present the Club with a new map. It is not as good in some respects as we wish it were, being reduced from the very large map supplied us by the National Park Service. It is, however, a great improvement in accuracy over the one we have published the past few years. Additional copies may be secured from the Triangle Press at 101 North Broadway. All Club members, new ones particularly, should read the articles appearing near the back of the book regarding the One Cent Per Mile Rule, The Photographic Contest and General Information. By official action of the Board of Directors we were asked not to publish the names of persons on Club Committees, yet we must acknowledge that this Handbook is largely the creation of a very able and industrious committee.
