In this letter of May 2, 1864, Henry Marshall Misemer (1832-1865) writes his "Dear wife," Martha Misemer, from Nashville, Tennessee. He was glad to hear from her and that the children are well. He tries to answer questions about his business and tells her to try to remember what he has told her because he has not thought of business since leaving. He lets her know he has no secrets and if he has forgotten to answer a question, then she should ask him again. He shares that he likes the names Laura Caroline or Martha for their unborn child who they refer to as "dollie." He reports the promotions of men in his company - Jacob Brient, A. C. Derrik, and Clint Norvel.
