  • 17 DEPARTMENT OF THE INTERIOR UNITED STATES GEOLOGICAL SURVEY WASHINGTON October 4, 1919, Mr. Horace Kephart, Bryson City, North Carolina, Sir: The inclosed circular, which is free, is sent in reply to your letter concerning maps. Order only the maps whose names are printed in red on the index map in the quadrangles representing the .areas covered. The quadrangles shown without names in red have been surveyed, "but the maps have not yet been published. Surveys have not been completed for the remaining areas. Maps of the standard size (16 1/2 x 20 inches) sell for 10 cents each if less than 50 are purchased. If 50 or more are supplied they are sold at 6 cents a copy. Larger maps are sold at the rates given in the circular. Remit by money order payable to the Director of the United States Geological Survey. Please give full- address, including city, county, and state.
