  • intersection with No. 107 at Ocona Luftee bridge just before reaching Cherokee. From this intersection the route follows No. 107 via Cherokee, the Park Boundary, and Smokemont to the State border at Newfound Gap. The route then goes over Tennessee No. 71 down the valley of the West Prong of Little Pigeon River and through the beautiful, rolling Sugarland country to Gatlinburg. There is exceptionally fine mountain scenery from Cherokee to Newfound Gap and Gatlinburg. Outstanding features include a view of Clingman's Dome from the Gap and of Mt. Mingus, Chimney Tops, and Sugarland Mountain on the left as the road descends from the Gap to Gatlinburg. From Gatlinburg the route continues on Highway No. 71 by way of Pigeon Forge to Sevierville, where intersection is made with No. 35 which is followed to Newport. Five and four-tenths miles from Sevierville one may obtain at the right, if the weather is clear, a commanding view of the Great Smoky Mountains with White Rock on the east and Mt. LeConte on the west. From Newport, the tour goes over No. 9 to the State line, where connection is made with North Carolina No. 20. Over this highway the route goes to Hot Springs, long famous as a mountain resort and spa, and then by Walnut Gap, Walnut, and Marshall to Asheville. The road from Hot Springs to Asheville winds through beautiful mountains and the picturesque French Broad River Valley. Road Conditions: No. 10, Asheville to intersection Nos. 10 and 112: Hardsurfaced. No. 112 to intersection Nos. H2 and 107: Under construction until August, 1933. Detour by going 3.9 miles on No. 10 to intersection of No. 107. Turn right on No. 107 and go 5.5 miles to Cherokee. No. 107 to Cherokee: Gravel road, passable in any weather. In event No. 107 is put under construction, No. 112 will be "pened to traffic. No. 107, Cherokee to near Smokemont: 29
