  • Soda 'aroliiiaUiir iter Libraru The Soda Process of pulp making is used in the treatment of poplar and chestnut chips, the latter having been first put through the extract works for the extraction of tannic acid. This pulp is known as "short fibre," and after it is passed through an elaborate screening system, it is bleached to an extreme white. It is used, together with sulphite pulp, in the manufacture of high-grade paper, insuring a strong, well-closed sheet with a surface well adapted for coating or siipcrcalendering for the highest class printing. EXTENSIVE RECOVERY PROCESSES are operated in the soda mill, consisting of evaporators, incinerators, etc., about 85% of the soda-ash going back into the process to be re-used as a result of this agency. Also about 80% of the 60 tons of lime used daily is re-used. We manufacture one mi indued tons of Champion Soda Pulp daily.
