  • I was not so disturbed about his studies because I am sure he can make those up. I think I told you that I saw him at Chapel Hill I think I never saw a more handsome young fellow. I hope the dear fellow will not get discouraged he is making such a fine record there, his work is being watched and most favorably commented upon, the way he hustles and l[e]arns what he can. The dear boy dont know it but he is being held up there as the finest example of thrift there I would not tell him what I learned. Mrs. Slagle I bet with you that it is the greatest blessing that could come to him in will educate him both physically and mentally. He seemed to me almost perfect physically. I heard from him as soon as he got out of the infirmary, I have cautioned him all along how to conduct himself with the mumps, and he has constantly assured me that he would be very careful. I am so glad Mr. Slagle is better, let us continue to pray and work, God will hear and answer. I am certainly happy. I remember t
