asked that he call his aunt there but he thot it must be Wattie & didn’t do it. He said there had been a blow-up & he had been at the Dorm. a week. Every one was sitting around listening so we didn’t go into details so that’s all I know. Evidently Leonard’s suspicions were correct but evidently, also, he needn’t worry about Buddy. We all fell in love with him and are hoping to get him up here. Of course he would have to get some-one to work for him & that would cost him money which he probably can’t

In this letter of October 31, 1938, Cornelia writes her mother Laura Kephart to tell her about her trip to Cleveland to visit her husband’s side of the family, the Smalls. While there she visited with her nephew Buddy, Leonard’s son, and asks that Laura pass the letter onto Leonard and suggests that he visit the Smalls when he’s in town next time.
