  • Page 7 Dear Readers, As you may know, the Western Carolinian staff has been working very hard on covering breaking, campus, world and town news for the paper. Many of you have seen a huge change into what the Western Carolinian has become. We have gone from tabloid style to broadsheet. This new transition has been very hard and has required many hours in the newsroom. The new style is something that everyone had to adjust to and that includes our read- ers. However, in our first couple of is- sues this semester we have encountered some major problems. Grammar, miss spelling, wrong dates and some other errors. The staff would like to apolo- gize to our readers for these mistakes. We would also like to take the time to apologize to diversity students for run- ning the incorrect term in the edito- rial section of last issue. We have had some system problems and some of the wrong articles have gotten into the pa- per. Because of this we may have upset some of our readers. The staff is im- proving everyday and we plan to bring out the best newspaper as possible for our Western students and staff. We are fixing these problems and bringing you the campus news. This is where you hear it first. Sincerely, The Western Carolinian Staff P.S. If you see we are not covering an event or you see some problems that you would like to change, please come join the staff. We have openings for ad sales, sports writing, news writing, feature writing, entertainment writing, photography, graphic design and copy- editing.
