Open Monday - Saturday at 7 am. Located inside the Fun Factory! Enjoy your favorite Cappuccino, Expresso, Latte, Mochaccino, French Vanilla Mocha, along with a homemade Dnet\i IFeLess Bring your computer Tor @ @ B y Katie Rath e WCnewsmagazine (Four out of five stars) | was drinking a cappuccino in Barnes and Nobles when | first heard the honeyed voice of UK singer-songwriter Corrine Bailey Rae. Immediately caught up in her fresh sound, not only did | drop my book and listen, but | high-tailed it to the music section to buy her CD. Bailey Rae has been the apple of the eye of the British music scene for years; first in all-girl band Helen and then as a solo. Fortunately for us across the pond, she embarked on a whirlwind adventure and released her self-titled album in the US in 2006. In her almost-year on the music scene, her voice has been compared to Norah Jones and Billie Holiday. But Bailey Rae is warm like no other. With a subdued power, her voice is neither by Carol Goodman Commentary by Meredith OShea Corinne Bailey Rae, Corinne Bailey Rae overwhelming nor too soft. With a soft tone and childishly-sweet manner, an is romantic in her own right. Actually, romantic would probably be the best adjective for her album as a whole. From the calming symphony-like introduction to Call Me When You Get This to the sway-worthy Breathless, Bailey Raes work strokes the soul with her charming lyrics and melodies. But dont write off the entire album as saccharine ballads. Energetic and catchy songs can be found in Put Your Records On and Id Like To. Regardless, youre sure to be breathing a sigh of relief in this young woman's attempt to refresh your ears. et Bt BD) SN 2 m4 i mae: The Lake of Dead Languages The Lake of Dead Languages is a compelling read. The first twenty pages are a complete bore, but the minute you hit page fifty the plot takes off and the reader is on the way to a highly complex mystery. The author introduces you to the story's main protagonist Jane Hudson who has a suspicious past at Lake Heart Private School. According to the story summary on the back of the book, Jane swears that she would never go back to the school that took the lives of her two friends: Matt and Lucy. | guess Jane lied to herself because twenty years later she becomes a teacher at the very school she ran away from. It also seems history is repeating itself. Janes students are committing suicide left and right. But are they really? It also seems that someone has Janes old diary from senior year and doesnt mind leaving personal messages from it around school. Is Jane in danger? Possibly. The story has an exciting twenty page climax at the ending that will knock your socks off. As for the characters; they are all multidimensional. Janes a little dry in the beginning but by the end of the book you understand why. | would definitely recommend this book to anyone that loves a good twist. newsma gazine Sa HB 4 aft EE_YveD> a =e 2 | oaks UJ Pe ea od ee eA a tt et Ne a
