  • 16 WESTERN CAROLINIAN SPORTS September 20, 2000 Thank Goodness for Un&rgWen by Servo Staff writer The weekend passed and WCW Fall Brawl came and went. After witnessing the last few Fall Brawls, I was a bit uneasy about watching this one. There were some truly crappy matches and storylines in the previous Fall Brawl PPVs, and evidently, WCW doesn't want to break tradition. This PPV was not the best in the world, but it had some redeeming qualities. Most matches, including the World Title match between Booker T and Kevin Nash were simple, boring rehashes of every other WCW match. The only real exception was the Goldberg/Steiner match. Typically, I would not have enjoyed this match, but these guys pulled some great moves, had a good pace, and it was damn near entertaining. That was until Vince Russo put himself in to whack Goldberg with a ball bat. That pissed me off almost as much as Hacksaw Jim Duggan's heel turn. Yes, the man who could get an entire arena chanting USA in no time has aligned himself with the Canadian faction of WCW. Servo Says #1: Damn you Duggan! Damn you to Canada! — Scott Hudson (WCW announcer). I neglected these Servo Says comments in the past few articles. I'm making up for it now. Thankfully, with Fall Brawl out of the way, I can concentrate on WWF's Unforgiven next Sunday night. And even with a fatal four-way World Title match between The Rock, Benoit, Undertaker, and Kane being the main event, the biggest story of Unforgiven is the Steve Austin return. For those of you who haven't been keeping track, Steve Austin suffered a severe neck injury last year. The WWF produced a story line where Austin was hit by a car last November and has been out having surgery and recovering ever since. Well, he is back and looking for the jerk that ran him over. To make matters more interesting, WWF writers are making it hard for fans to figure out who ran him over. The list of suspects is long, but I feel deep down that the driver could be Kurt Angle, Vince, Steph, or Shawn Michaels. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if it was Mick Foley or The Rock. Hopefully we'11 know next week. The local guys in the PWF had an interesting show last week. Hook was called out by a newcomer tag-team duo, Tim and Dave. Hook's tag-team partner, Dust, which resulted from the royal rumble the previous week, came out and everything went downhill from there, with the Hitman, Brett Knight, attacking Hook from behind. It all resulted in a six-man tag as the main event with Knight and PWF President Hardcore Harv joining Hook and Dust. Other matches included me, Servo, facing heavyweight champ, Kudzu. I must say I don't know who scheduled it...but perhaps it was the same person that ran over Stone Cold. Also, the "new" Ghetto Connection of Ghetto D and Third South Thug was formed. Wednesday Night Edge tonight at the Reynolds sand pit promises to be very entertaining. Servo Says #2: Eddie, please get your face out of my cleavage. I can't hear you. Chyna really knows how to talk to a guy.
