  • Western Carolinian February 10,1994 News Page 3 Golden rains and threats of pain liven up weekend January 31 A student reported that someone smeared hand lotion on his vehicle while it was parked in the Field House Lot between Friday and Monday. February 1 A fire alarm in Forsyth was caused by telephone technicians working on the system at 10:00 am. Baseball staff reported that skateboarders were causing some damage to a curb at the stadium at 3:15 pm. A student reported that she had received a threatening letter and telephone calls from an ex-boyfriend at 6:14 pm. A student reported thatan ex-boyfriend had stolen a ring from her room and pawned it in Asheville. The pawn shop confirmed to investigating officers that the ring had been pawned and agreed to hold it pending possible prosecution. Officers issued a campus citation to a student for driving left of center at the median at Joyner Plaza at 7:50 pm. February 2 Officers assisted baseball staff members by counseling two skateboarders about their activities near the stadium at 3:50 pm. Officers served a warrant for arrest on a student for issuing a worthless check to Pizza Hut in August. Five students were found to be in underage possession of alcohol in front of HarrillHallatl2:15am. All were referred to Student Development for follow-up action. Officers cited a student for driving the wrong way on a one-way street at 12:20 pm. Officers assisted Housing staff in Scott by investigating a strong odor of marijuana smoke at 2:07 am. Officers positively identified the odor as marijuana and counseled the students who live in the suspect room. The incident was referred to Housing for follow-up action. February 3 A student reported receiving an annoying telephone call at 10:45 am. Officers served two warrants for arrest on a non-student for issuing worthless checks to Pizza Hut in April of 1993. A faculty member reported that his coat was stolen from his office in Moore between 250 pm and 305 pm. The coat was found later in a restroom with all property intact. Astudentreported rhathewasassaulted by another student while officiating an intramural game at 635 pm. Officers banned the subject from campus and escorted him from the building. A student was warned about underage consumption of alcohol and the remaining participants were referred to Housing for disciplinary action. Housingstaff in Leatherwood reported a studentacting violently at 12:15am. Officers calmed the student and referred the incident to Housing and Student Development. A student reported that she was assaulted by another female student near Benton Hall 1:20 pm. The incident is referred to Student Development. February 4 Officers cleared an investigation of a hit & run accident which occurred at Moore on 1/28. Officers served a warrant for arrest on a student charging her with issuinga worthless check to Pizza Hut in August. Officers served a criminal summons on a student charging him with damage to real property in connection with an incident which occurred at Holly Hills Country Club in Franklin in April of 1993. February 5 Officers issued a campus cita tion to a student for failing to stop at a stop sign and at the flashing light at 2:31 am. Officers cited an employee for speeding on Creek Road at 6:20 am. Officers responded to a report of an alarm going off in Room 206 Robertson at 1:40 pm. It was an alarm clock. Housing staff reported a disturbance in Benton at 9:21 pm. Officers referred six students to Housing for violations of campus alcohol policies. While handling the above call, officers V referred a student to •/* Housing for urinating ' out the window of a study room. While handling the above calls, officers noticed a student outside Benton urinating in the parking lot at 938 pm. The student was arrested for being intoxicated and disruptive after the vehicle in which he was riding attempted to elude police. February 6 Officers arrested a non-student for DWI after several traffic violations on Centennial Drive at 3:15 am. A student reported that his bicycle was stolen from a bathroom in Walker between 9:00 pm on February 5 and 7:15 am on February 6.. A student reported that he had been threatened at 9:00 pm.
