Is still dependable transportation $575. Original owner: 586-8013. the wind blows ana men it is a European problem and a world problem. When we take unilateral action to drop a bomb on Libya we have created a problem for the world and not solved terrorism for ourselves as we might think. When our country abandons the Salt II treaty and its limitations on the escalation on the nuclear arms race, that creates a problem for the world. We are reminded that the leaders of the six nations on five continents offered the use of their territory and instrument to monitor a nuclear test ban to assure that all parties to the agreement abided by the agreement. This is a world problem. When an American Jounalist is held hostage in a Moscow jail on the trumped-up charge of espionage and later released in exchange for the release of an accused Soviet spy held in the United States and his incident threatens a summit meeting between the two superpowers, it does not remain an American problem. Nor does it even become an East-West problem. This becomes a world problem. ■As concerned citizens of the world, I am sure you are appalled at some of the unilateral actions that we have witnessed in recent times. We as a nation must be fully supportive of the moral and legal authority of the United Nations, and the World Court of Justice. These intitutions are the only platform that the dispossessed of the world have for gaining a respectable hearing. We must be outspoken in ourcommitment to an institution and a body of law that enjoys world creditably It is in our national interest to be supportive of these institutions that were born out of the struggle against fascism and nazism during the Second World War. This is part of our treasure of inheritance as Americans, just as much as it is for many other people with whom we share this planet. WCU Students, finally, must make a moral judgement and choose the high road. College Democrats is a challenging organization that is choosing a new course. We are convinced that our nation — a great nation, a blessed nation — is only one step away from being the source of hope and peace and joy in the world. 1968 VW Bug-Good condition. The game will feature contrasting offensive styles along with two of the nation's best kicking specialists. Western Carolina is averaging 230 yards a game through the air as quarterback Willie Perkins puts the ball up 37 times a game. East Tennessee is averageing 245 yards a game on the ground as signal caller Jeff Morgan runs the ball approximately 20 times a game out of the veer offense. Cimadevilla is the nation's (I- AA) leading punter with his 46.4 average while Western's Kirk Roach is listed among the nation's top five field goal kickers with only one miss in eight attempts. Wafers expressed vmwwmwmwww Kollege dissapointment with his team showing at Auburn, but gave the Tigers their due. "We literally gave Aubum 28 points and it bothers me when a team scores on you without haveing to earn it. I knew going in that Auburn would be the finest football team we've played. They were even better than I expected and might be the best in the nation before it is all over. I guess it was a compliment that they were so prepared for us. I was as impressed with the way they conducted themselves as I was with thier size, talent and execution. There was no finger pointing and running off at the mouth. Auburn is a classy, well- couched football team," he stated. "Now," he added, "we've got to get ready for a team that is going to come into our stadium on an emotional high and playing with a bt of confidence." Steel charcoal grill and smoke. Western North Carolina can't afford to have its Congressman confused over nuclear waste issues. We cannot afford to have our Congressman voice opposition to nuclear waste dumps and then vote Federal funds for the creation of a Monitored Retrievable Storage facility in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Mountain residents can be thankful for the postponement announced by the Secretary of Energy, but the battle to keep high-level nuclear waste out of Western North Carolina is far from over. The people of Western North Carolina should not be fooled or lulled into a false sense of security by this action. The battle is not over. We must not give up the fight until we are formally and permanently safe from the threat of becoming the nation's nuclear dumping ground or the corridor through which huge amounts of high-level nuclear waste will travel with the threat of grave danger to our people and our environment. We need a Congressman who will not be fooled by the DOE, a Congressman who will fight for us — Jamie Clarke. Mobile Home, spotlessly clean, private lot, overlooking river 5 miles to campus.
