The show was a rousing success for Last Minute Productions and may herald even bigger & better shows for WCL) students. After a visit to WCU fraternity houses last Tuesday. Dry Rush Is Flooded By Success by Jerry .Michel Staff Reporter Dry rush--ihe.se vords sei (en; in tin' hearts of many serious social drinkers at Western. This year tot the ins! time, the WCU fraternity system experienced a three week dry rush before ending with a we! weekend Prompted by (he South fasterr. Inlerfralernity ii ii. the campus IFC enacted a rush program thai deempha- the alcohol-related activities o! fraternity life The big push tor dry rush cam from the national fraternal organization. As a basis tor this move, most national organizations stressed the rising drinking age. a de-emphasr/tion of the social aspects of fraternities, and a n.'.ing interest in intramural sports, friendship, and leadership training ihe reaction from fraternities across the nation has been positive.
