  • Junk Food; once a day September6, 1979 nit wi sli ksc AROL1NIAN Page 14 New I.D. plan goes into effect By MARK MOODY Staff Writer This year students were presented with a change to a new meal ticket system which combines student ID's, meal tickets, and athletic tickets, all on one magnetically coded card. Vice Chancellor for Student Development Dr. Glenn Stiilion, explained that this one card would last the student his entire four years at WCU. The process would be recoded on the magnetic tape every semester. The system should also save money and staff time and mm»mmmm''>w be more convenient for the student as he only has to CatT} one card. The new card was needed primary by the Cafeteria system as a way to differentiate between students who have the IS and 21 meals per week plans. Charles Simmons of WCU Food Sevices, stated that although the cost of the new system is around $30,000, other schools have realized savings of $50,000 the first year. This money is saved by preventing students from eating twice or loaning their card to a friend. Simmons also said that "This savings would be used to improve food quality." Simmons nentioned that food sevices feels it is meeting the students needs with a salad line at Dodson and a "junk food" line serving hamburgers and hotdogs during lunch at Brown. The sound is familiar. The PRICE is the SURPRISE! Minimus-7 This amazing little hi-fi speaker costs only about a third as much as some mini speakers, but we think they compare very favorably. How could they? Well, we gave ours a heavy-magnet large- excursion 4" woofer, a soft- dome wide-dispersion 1" tweeter, a precise L-C crossover network, and a diecast aluminum enclosure. The result is astonishing bass and crisp highs from a 7-1/6" tall system that fits on any bookshelf. Audio response is 50- 20,000 Hz and power capacity is 40 watts RMS. All for only 49-95* each. Now listen to this! Just 14.95* buys you a pair of the fully adjustable mounting brackets pictured here, so you can install two Minimus®-7s in your car. Or van or pickup or RV.
