  • Cuban Cotten also JANUARY 25, 1979/THE Wt5TERN CAROLINIAN/PAGE 13 Forum: Politics to Appalachia The spring schedule of programs of the University Forum for Contemporary Issues si Western Includes nine subjects ranging from politics to foreign relations, labor movements, and images of Appalachia. The series will begin January 29 with Russian dissident Lev Navrozov speaking on "How Can the West Survive: A Critique of Russia and the West." Navrozov, exiled in this country since 1972, is the author of "The Education of Lev Navrozov" and a frequent contributor to "Commentary," the journal of the American Jewish Committee. On February 5, WCU Chancellor H.F. Robinson will report on his recent visit to Cuba. The program will include his observations on Cuba today and a showing of the slides he took there. The February 12 program, set during National Black History Week, will consider "Race Relations in the U.S. Since 1964." The speaker will be former WCU history professor Lewis Suggs, who now teaches at Howard University in Washington, D.C. The labor union movement in North Carolina will be featured February 26, and the issue of church and state you'll find it in the Classified! in education will be tin- subject >>t a March S debate.
