The game had a rating of 47.1, with 71 percent of the television sets in use tuned in, the most-watched show in the Nielsen television ratings for the past week. Although the game, played in Miami starting at 4 p.m. EST, was seen in California in the afternoon, parts of it continued into prime-time on the East Coast. The highest rated regular show was ABC's "Laverne and Shirley." , ABC continued its domination of the ratings with a rating of 23.5 for the week ending Sunday. CBS was second with 18.5, and NBC third with 18.4. For the season to date, ABC is ahead with 20.5, CBS is second with 18.6 and NBC third with 17.7 Seven of the top 10 shows for the week were on ABC, including a new series," "Delta House," which was 10th. CBS' only show in the top 10 was "MASH." NBC did not place one of its regular shows in the Top 10. although it did win the top spot with the Super Bowl, and the Super Bowl Post Game Show placed fifth. NBC's highest rated regular show was "Different Strokes," which finished 19th. Here are the week's Top 10 shows: "Super Bowl," NBC, 34.9 million homes; "Laverne and Shirley," ABC, 25 million; "Happy Days" and "Three's Company," tied, both ABC, 25.4 million; "Super Bowl Post Game Show," NBC, 23.4 million; "Mork and Mindy," ABC, 22.5 million; "Eight is Enough," ABC, 22.3 million; "Taxi," ABC. 21.1 million; "MASH," CBS, 21 million; "Delta House," ABC, 20.9 million. UCB to present Music Guild The UCB will present musicians from the Cullowhee Music Guild on a regular basis each Saturday night in the Deli of Hinds University Center from 8:30 p.m. until 12:30 a.m. The Guild is a non-profit organization and will provide a medium for free expression to anyone, to acquaint them with other local artists in the area, and sponsor original work of both amateurs and professionals alike. The evenings' entertainment will be divided into three sections. The first and last of which will be scheduled by the Guild. The middle part will be varied such as poetry readings, clowns, musicians, plays, magical acts, impromptu speeches, tall tales, jokes, and down right lies, etc., for anyone in the audience to perform who wants to. Performances will begin at 8:30 p.m. every Saturday night. Schedule of events and performances by the Guild in other locations will be announced weekly. Performances should end by 12:30 a.m. A bulletin board will be at the Deli (2nd Floor University Center) as an information center, which will have as many possible local artists, their addresses, and telephone numbers indexed for the availability to anyone interested in information, work or lessons. The Guild invites anyone who can make music or likes music to come to the meetings on Saturday night at 7 p.m. at the Deli for business, workshops, discussion of works to be performed, or innovative energy. The Guild will present the music of Beam Furr of Bat Cave on January 27. C.W. Stewart of Trout Creek on February 3, and Jay Coward of Sylva on February 10, with later events to be announced. In addition, other artists will be introduced on stage. Beam Furr will present an hour long musical fantasy with narration called "The Fool Chased His Shadow." He will also perform a set of original compositions. Workshop for children The Student Council for Exceptional Children presented Mr. Charles Jackson, director of the Jackson County Sheltered Workshop, with a check for $216 to aide in the purchase of a new van. The Club raised the money through a bake sale at Mountain Heritage Day and a car wash during fall semester. SCEC President Marvena McCain and Treasurer Mylinda Mailloux presented Mr. Jackson with the $216 check.
