PAGE 4 THE WESTERN CAROLINIAN TUESDAY NOVEMBER 19,1974 Campus Opinion Your gripe? Sevi I want to complain about getting laid off my job by Doyle Dillard, the business vice chancellor. He only gave me and three other men one day's notice when he probably knew he was going to'do it several weeks earlier. I was on the maintenance paint crew. I'm going to starve with all my bills that have to be paid. I'm really disappointed with Doyle on this. Kevin Boutelle, 22, part-time english major. Traffic should be shut off from campus, or at least some of it should be re-routed. It's impossible for the blind and the young to get around unassisted, and it's hard for the rest of us. The traffic cops seem to ignore the pedestrians. Margie Shelton, 25, health sciences. I want to know why Student Government Productions brings somebody like Dickie Betts here who nobody apparently wants to see and they charge $3.00 to get in. It's ridiculous especially considering they paid about $15,000 to get him, SGP apparently isn't going by the survey it took at the beginning of the year about who the students wanted for concerts. I had rather see just one good concert than three that no one cares about. David Nail, 21, industrial arts education* r There arent enough activities happening on campus. There needs to be more weekend concerts and dances. I loved the Saturday football game. Hopefully we will have the bowl game here. Terri Houser, 19, early childhood. Compared with one year ago, I'm making about twice as much money, but my standard of living hasn't increased. Inflation is hurting my family a lot. I'm married and hive two kids, and it's hard meeting my manetary obligations. If I didn't have the GI Bill and an assistantship I couldn't stay in school. Doug Bridges, 27, english graduate student. We definitely should try to get in the Southern Conference. We have a good team this year. Our teams can compete with the Southern Conference, and it would help this school by getting in since it will make someone aware that WCU is here. Tom Powlas, 21, biology. own
