Assistant Profs Write Biology Manual KGteS A biology laboratory manual written by two Western Carolina University assistant professors has been published by Kendall-Hunt Publishing Co. of Dubugue, Iowa. Linda J. Perryand Dr. James W. Wallace were the authors of the new book, "Experiments With Life: A Laboratory Manual for Cellular Biology." According to the co-authors' preface, the book provides laboratory experiences for a one- quarter introductory course in cellular biology. A native of North Wilkesboro, Mrs. Perry received her bachelor of science in education degree from WCU in 1965, and her MAT degree from Harvard University in Cambridge, Mass. in 1966. She teaches freshman cellular biology and is responsible for coordinating laboratory work for over 60C students a year. Her husband, Dwain, is an instructor at Hay- wood Technical Institute. Dr. Wallace received his bachelor of science and master of science degrees from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. His Ph. D. was awarded by the University of Texas atAus- tin in 1967. He is a member of the Botanical Society of America and the National Geographic Society, and was recently re-elected secretary of the Phyto- chemical Society of North America for his third term. Dr. Wallace has authored a number of journal publications, t He and his wife, Gloria, have two sons. HEALTH CAREERS The W.C.U.
