  • Page 10 The Western Carolinian Friday, December 11, 1964 WCC's 1964 Catamounts Boast conference this season. Sonny Burrell has been a starter for Western Carolina in both games with Piedmont this season. He is a 6'5" Sophomore from Franklin, North Carolina, and has been playing forward for the Cats. Sonny is a husky boy with great potential and will see much action on the court this season. The tallest man on the squad is 6'7" Dale Beaver, a Freshman from Rockwell, North Carolina. Dale has seen only spot action for the Cats thus far, but should develop into a John Brintnall John Brintnall is a 6'5" Junior from Bryson City, North Carolina. One of only two returning lettermen from last year's Catamount team which finished second in the Carolinas Conference, John has been moved from a forward position to center this year and is currently leading the team in rebounding. He is averaging 14 points after three games, scoring mostly on inside shots, tip- ins, and jumpers from the foul line. John is the man counted on to grab the rebounds for the Cats if they are to contend with the bigger teams in the Brintnall.
