The game almost developed into a pitching duel between McKenzie and Barnhorst. McKenzie gave 6 hits, 3 runs, and walked only 1 man; he struck out 8 men. Barnhorst allowed only 5 hits, 7 runs and gave 6 men free tickets to first; he put ten men down swinging. At the end of the third Boodleville led 2-1. Then the Robertson team came up in the fourth to score five runs. They brought in another run in the fifth. The only other score in the ball game was one for Boodleville in the fifth. Coach Friese reported that 3rd. Robertson forfeited their softball game to Boodleville because of violation of rules in the eligibility of players. This makes the score sheet with no losses for Boodleville and one for 3rd Robertson. 4TH MADISON HAS A SHUT-OUT OVER D. S. The 4th Madison ten shut-out the Day Students in a 2-0 victory in the softball game. Both teams were held close by the pitching of King and Lowe. King, for Madison, gave 7 hits and 6 walks, while Lowe gave only 4 hits and 3 walks. Both of the Madison scores were made in the third. Neil got a single and advanced to 2nd when Pennell singled. King drove both in with a double. The inning ended King still on base. This victory is the second for Madison and the first loss for the Day Students. At the end of the third inning, the score sheet read 5-5. Then the Robertson team came into bat in the 4th and brought in 5 more scores and in the fifth they ran in 3 more. The Madison team didn't score any more after the third. In the sixth Hardin replaced Barnes as pitcher for Madison and Robertson got 4 shitand 6 runs. Barnes came back in the seventh and held Rob- to 3 hits and 3 runs. In the entire game Barnes gave 16 hits, 16 runs and 4 walks. The winning pitcher, Collins, limited the Madison men to only 9 hits, 5 runs, and walked only 2. The second Madison team was eliminated from the intramural softball tournament when 1st Madison gave them their second loss 21-10. The first floor team took a lead of 8-2 in the second and kept adding to it throughout the ball game. The pitchers were Barnes for first and Arrington for second. Barnes gave 17 hits, 10 runs and walked one man. Arrington gave 21 hits, 20 runs and walked twelve men. *The line-ups: 1st. Third Madison takes a forfeit from 2nd Robertson in the fifth inning as 2nd Robertson was short of players. This gave 3rd.
