The show begins with Amy’s story “Churning Butter,” in which she shares her memories of how she and her siblings churned butter at their grandparents’ old home. “Here Comes the Sun” accompanies the story. Doreyl’s guest on Creative Corner is Terry Michelsen, a poet from Cullowhee. She has recently completed her second book of poetry, entitled If After You Are Gone, and reads her poem “In the Morning.” “Blue Ridge Harvest Moon” by Appalachian Fire follows the interview. On Stories of Mountain Folk, Amy wraps up her conversation with Blanche Potts Wike. This week Blanche talks about her life in Cullowhee and East LaPort with her extended family. The interview is followed by “Twilight is Stealing” by the Spirit-Filled Trio. On Coming Around the Mountain, Sean talks with Georgia Hickes of Cullowhee who came to this area in 1967 as a speech therapist. She talks about her life and her love for the mountains. Georgia has lost her sight and shares how the students of Western Carolina University have helped her and how beneficial that has been to her. She also gives some advice on how to live a full and happy life. “Take a Moment and Live” by the Smoky Mountain Boys follows the interview, and the closing song is “The Gospel According to John” by Archie Watkins.
