  • In her story "Upper Room of the Canhouse," Amy describes her rustic mountain childhood, followed by Keith Shuler’s song "Friends.” On Creative Corner, Doreyl and her guest, Larry Barnett of Bryson City, discuss his bluegrass background and his experiences teaching young people through the JAM (Junior Appalachian Musicians) program; "Ragtime Annie" performed by the Leftovers—a bluegrass band formed by JAM instructors—closes the interview. Amy’s guest, Junetta Pell of Webster, shares her interest in teaching and creating handicrafts, including basketry and chair caning; "Are You from Dixie?" from the Valley River Boys ends the segment. On Apple Butter, Krista’s guest, Ashley Claxton of Bryson City, shares childhood memories of riding with the Western North Carolina Wagon Train and sings her grandfather’s song "Let Them Heavy Wagons Roll."
