Jr. fofr**'**' it would be visited hy an immense number of people living in A the extreme Southern States, and if properly developed hy the Government, it would likewise attract thousands of visitors in the winter from the North. The fact that this region is only 24 hours travel from New Orleans, Hew York and Chicago wotild make it accessible to the masses of the people. "When properly preserved anci conducted on the plan of the famous Yellowstone Park in the North-west , game life would again be come plentiful, and the streams, the natural home of the trout, would again abound with till same as in the days cf old.. yt is then.with the greatest satisfaction that we notice that on the 22nd of November last there was organized in Asheville, II. C. an Association for the promotion of a Southern National Park and Forest Reserve, This Convension. was attended hy representative men from all over the South eastern States, including such well known men as Senator Butler and Senator Crawford of North Carolina, Roses II. Cone of New York, P. A. Stovall of Savannah, Ga. J. C. Garlington of Spartanburg, S. C, II. C. Eccles, Charlotte, N. C.,J. C. Gibbs, Columbia, S. C, J. C. Hatfgood, Charleston, S. C,.
